With live performances, delicious food stalls, and fun for the whole family, the annual Ceres Market was a vibrant celebration that lit up the Ceres main road. Hosted in collaboration with Witzenberg Municipality and funded by Perdekraal East Wind Farm, this much-anticipated event once again brought the community together in a heartwarming display of unity and holiday cheer.
The event provided small local businesses with a platform to showcase their products, connect with customers, and expand their customer base, ultimately boosting sales and contributing to the local economy.
“Ceres Tourism was proud to be part of this event, a well-organised event with a wonderful festive atmosphere that brought the community together, while giving local entrepreneurs great exposure and sales opportunities, ultimately boosting the local economy,” said Shirley Wagener, Ceres Tourism Manager.
The entertainment lineup added to the excitement, with performances by well-known local artists Don Vino, Emile & Mr. Heinz, Matthew Power, and Reece, alongside local talents like Majestic Sounds. Social media personality Mr. Sherrif kept the energy high as MC, while Sunday’s program took on a reflective tone with spiritual performances and messages of hope from Pastor Pieter Swarts and Ceres native Dr. Gerald Maarman.
“The market is more than just a festive event; it’s a celebration of togetherness and an opportunity for small businesses to thrive. Seeing the joy and unity it brings to the community reaffirms our commitment to supporting initiatives that make a lasting impact,” said Gwynne-Lee Borcherds, Economic Development Manager for Perdekraal East Wind Farm.
The Kiddies Corner, held at Morrisdale Primary School and organised by The Levels Company’s Lorenzo Hofmeester, was a hit amongst the young ones, offering exciting activities such as water slides, jumping castles, paintball, and interactive games, making it a true family affair.
