Access to clean, safe healthcare facilities is vital for community well-being. To improve hygiene and infection control, the Loeriesfontein Community Health Centre (CHC) has replaced its old carpets with durable, hypoallergenic tiles, creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
“The healthcare staff are very pleased with the new flooring, making their work much easier. It not only looks neat and professional but is also effortless to clean. Additionally, it helps reduce infections and allows for better infection control,” said Anna Opperman, Operational Manager at the Loeriesfontein Community Health Centre.
Funded by Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms, in a response to a donation request from Loeriesfontein CHC, the upgrade, carried out by a local small business specialising in repairs and maintenance.
“This initiative served to improve community well-being while supporting local businesses. It addresses practical needs and enhances residents’ quality of life, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable community investment,” stated Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms.
The new tiled flooring improves hygiene, speeds up cleaning, and helps minimise pests. Its durability ensures a neat, community-friendly space for the long term.
