Recognising the need for improved healthcare infrastructure, essential air conditioners have been installed at Eurekaville Clinic and Nanqo Simon Zono Clinic. This initiative ensures a more comfortable and conducive environment for both patients and healthcare workers, removing barriers to accessing essential medical care in both extreme heat and cold weather conditions.
“Little children often resist medical examinations in cold weather because they have to undress. Similarly, young women requiring annual pap smears sometimes neglect their health due to the discomfort of cold clinic rooms. The air conditioners directly contribute to the health and well-being of our community,” said Sister Mbatiwe, Operations Manager of Eurekaville Clinic.
Funded by Noupoort Wind Farm, this contribution aligns with its commitment to health as a core focus of its community development initiatives. The improved conditions have also contributed to both clinics receiving recognition as Ideal Clinics, a prestigious designation awarded to top-performing healthcare facilities in the Northern Cape.
“By investing in healthcare infrastructure, we continue to play a vital role in enhancing essential services for the Noupoort community, ensuring that residents receive quality healthcare in a comfortable environment,” concluded Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Noupoort Wind Farm.
The installation of the air conditioners was carried out by Mr. Ntando Siko of Mabcor Facilities Solutions, a local SMME in Noupoort, also supported by the wind farm. Since its establishment in 2017, Mabcor Facilities Solutions has experienced exponential growth, and this project highlights the importance of supporting local businesses while addressing critical community needs.
This support is an extension of Noupoort Wind Farm’s support of primary health care in the area, which dates back to 2017.
